Day 5

Day Five of Big Time Literacy Blogging Challenge. Today is talking about favorite teams. But I don't really have any. The males in my family have favorites, and I go along with them, but they are not really mine.

So, I'm gonna pick a different topic. I have a problem. FOMO. Yes, fear of missing out.

With my family, friends, teachers, everyone!! And it is going on right now.

There is a thing going on in Vegas next week and so many of my friends and teacher inspirers are going to be there. At the I Teach K! (or 1st!) conference, TpT Conference, or at a blogger meet up.

See what I mean? Professional Development at its FINEST and I am missing out!!

Well, to drown out my misery, I will let you know about the "Vegas Giveaway & Erin Condren Gift Card" opportunity.

I filled out the Rafflecopter and you can too! I found the giveaway at Surfin' Through Second, but you can see more about the giveaway at Ramona Recommends or Easy Teaching Tools ( they are the hosts of this giveaway).

I love the Erin Condren Teacher Planner. I had one last year, and got one for the coming year already. It is amazing!!! Plus some products from amazing teacher-creators!!

It's quick and easy to enter.

Thanks as always Michelle for the party/challenge.

Hope you have a great Saturday!

  1. I've been reading all the posts on teachers' blogs that they'll be attending the TPT Conference in Vegas. I'm a bit jealous, too. Ha! Who knows, maybe one day we'll be there sharing our stories?! Here goes my family motto: "PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)! That's the way! Everyday!" ;)

    1. Colleen,
It would be really cool to have the opportunity to meet in Vegas and share our stories. Is it ok I make your family motto my family motto. I'm really liking it!

  2. I'm totally jealous about everyone going to the TPT conference toooo! Besides the fact that it is at the Venetian (which is my most favorite hotel EVER), and it's in VEGAS (hello, fun!)...the sessions look really amazing. Maybe I should adopt Colleen's motto too :)

    1. Caitlin,
I don't feel so bad now...there are other nice people who are also not going to be in Vegas. Comfort in numbers. But maybe we should plan something...

  3. I too have FOMO on all the great workshops I hear about! However, many bloggers are very generous and share the highlights of what they learn. Even though it's not the same, I sort of feel like I've still benefited from the conference. I'm gonna give PMA a try, here it goes: maybe others will share and we can still learn from the conferences from afar. :)Thanks Colleen, for the new motto!

  4. My son has a fear of missing out, too! It results in him never getting enough sleep.

    1. Jennie,
This made me chuckle a bit. But it really isn't funny--too little sleep is no fun at all!

  5. I just found out Erin Condren and I can't wait to get a notebook from her! I also wish I was going to Vegas - but hey, next year, right? :-)

  6. Great post and thanks for the links! I need some help getting my blogging networking feet wet! It's kind of awesome realizing we have control (if not the money) to steer and develop our own professional development! There's been plenty of PD I've had to sit through in numerous districts that I didn't see the value in. Seeing who and what is out there in terms of PD is truly an eye opening experience! Thanks for the insights!

  7. Oh! I have this too! I especially have a fear of missing out with friends. I whine even sometimes. And I really, really wanted to attend the I Teach K (and 1) conferences in Vegas! I have never been to Vegas and I know some teachers that are going! I look at what is happening at Walton Rural Life Charter school and I think I am missing out. So many times I think I am missing out. But I'm not. I'm just having a different experience.
